Africa

The Danish Association of the Physically Disabled (DHF) started development work in Ghana and Uganda in 2001.

In both Ghana and Uganda, people with disabilities have joined together to fight for their rights, end social exclusion and marginalisation, and join society as equal and productive members.

In both countries, DHF works with sister organisations of people with physical disabilities in their striving to improve living conditions and promote the rights of people with physical disabilities.

Using the organisational experience of DHF in Denmark and funding from Danida, we support the organisational development of our partners and their capacity for effective advocacy for the rights of people with disability.

One of the long-term fruits of the work is a joint business venture, Good Basket in Ghana, carried out by people with disabilities for people with disabilities.
